The Shimmer Tales

Pondicherry with Hidesign

Hey guys! It’s just March and I’ve been on 3 trips this year already. Pondicherry was a place I always wanted to visit because the city is just like my soul – Bright and Colorful.

My Blogger Gang got invited by Hidesign for a staycation at their gorgeous properties Le Dupleix and The Promenade along with a factory visit to witness the making of their gorgeous bags.

So people from Hyderabad, there is one direct flight to Pondicherry by SpiceJet. Only the day we were travelling it got delayed and the whole plan got too hectic.

But the first property we checked into – Le Dupleix was so so stunning. Each corner was so instagrammable. We had a late lunch where the chef had a set menu for us to try out their specials – A cold Spanish Soup, Bruschettas, Blue Cheese Quiche, Ravioli and some yummy home made icecream and tiramisu.

We then checked in,explored the property. It is a gorgeous heritage property with the most romantic stay and setup with modern amenities. Made by French Architects, this property is bright and extremely peaceful.

We then got ready and went to a sundowner at the other property the Promenade. They have a very chill vibe by the pool with the beach right opposite and cool winds just made the evening even more delightful!

We sipped on some sangrias and light bites as we were super excited to have dinner at Bay of Buddha their Asian speciality. Bay of Buddha is their roof top restaurant with a beautiful beach view. We had dinner there and enjoyed everything right from Sushi to dimsums to crispy rolls and much more!

The next morning we checked into the Promenade. The property was vibrant and had a very pretty blue and white theme.

We then visited the Hidesign factory. It was started by Mr.Dilip Kapur. It was such a different experience to check out the process of making a bag right from the structure to details like handles and buckles. The best part was 98% of the employees were these amazing women from around the area who make these bags with so much love. The factory had such great energy and wasn’t like a regular factory. Seeing a bag come to design right from scratch is such an amazing experience.

We got back to the property and had lunch at Blue Line. We had a mix of cuisines – Paneer Butter Masala and Naaan and also yummy feta cheese and sun dried tomato pizza!

The night got amazing as we visited Storytellers Bar for a preview of the rock star collection by Hidesign followed by a ladies night! I really enjoyed our night here – they had some great cocktail mixes and food!
